MORATA TO LEAVE MADRID FOR CHELSEA

There are reports making the round in England that Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata could end his boring spell in Spain as he prepares to make a switch to England to play for the Blues.

Chelsea have comfortably pushed off competition to maintain their pursuit of the English Premier League this term. They are set to play in the UEFA Champions League next term hence the move to strengthen the team.

Blues manager Antonio Conte has reportedly earmarked Morata has a top pursuit for the summer when Real Madrid would have their transfer ban lifted. All along Morata has always been linked with a move to Arsenal. He is reported to have told friends that Chelsea is now the preferred choice.

The Telegraph claims that the player said he was a big fan of former Italy national team coach Conte and would love to play under him. Whilst there have been lot of rumours linking Chelsea pointman Diego Costa with a likely move to China, the report adds that Morata is the man to replace the Brazil-born player when he exits Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year old Morata was promised a lot of playing time at the Bernabeu when he agreed to return to the club but has fallen out with current Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane. He is likely going to leave the club during the summer but the key thing is his valuation.

Morata is valued £50 million which means only a few clubs can meet his price tag. With Gareth Bale set to return to full fitness in March, the playing chances of Morata would sink the more. Arsenal were the top choice but it seems Chelsea appeals to the player more at the moment, going by the report. Chelsea can easily pay for the player if the report is true.
